Selected applicants for the NROTC scholarship program are awarded a
scholarship through a highly competitive national selection process.
On graduation, NROTC Scholarship Midshipmen are commissioned as Ensigns
in the U.S. Navy with a military service obligation of eight years, at
least four of which must be active duty. The scholarship recipient
will receive full tuition and other financial benefits, including
stipend for books and class fees and a subsistence allowance each
month. The subsistence allowance increases as you progress through
school. NROTC scholarships do not pay for room and board or personal
items.
To apply for an NROTC 4-year scholarship, complete an electronic appli-
cation at http://www.nrotc.navy.mil/ Completion of an electronic
application is only the first step in the application process. Other
forms and documents must be submitted to your local NROTC recruiter.
Take the SAT or ACT test as early as possible and release scores
directly to the NROTC program by using Code 0656 on the test registra-
tion form. (There is no other means of providing the scores.)
Navy and Nurse Application:
Minimum SAT test scores of 530 Critical Reading and 520 Math
Minimum ACT test score of 22 in English and 21 in Math
Test scores may be below stated minimum if you graduate in the top
10% of your class
Marine:
SAT minimum combined score of 1000 on the Math and Critical Reading
portions of the test
ACT minimum combined score of 45 on the Math and English portions of
the test
Apply to at least 3 NROTC approved colleges or universities you would
like to attend. Acceptance is your responsibility. It is advisable
to apply to your university choices by November 1.
Application package must be completed at the local processing station
no later than January 20, in order to be received at the appropriate
headquarters.
