A candidate must obtain a nomination from a U.S. Senator or Repre- sentative to be considered for an appointment, U.S. citizen, 17 to 25 years old, male or female, good moral character, physical aptitude, academically qualified.
Academic minimum qualifying scores and requirements: SAT scores of 510 Verbal/Critical Reading and 560 Math with a composite score of 1070. Academy's College Board code is 2923. or ACT scores of 21 English and 24 Math with a composite score of 23. Academy's ACT code is 2974.
Graduate from an accredited high school or its equivalent, earning at least 18 units of credit in the following: Credit Units (minimum) English 4 Math 3 (Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry) Physics or Chemistry 1 (with a laboratory) We strongly recommend that you take: Mathematics 4 years (to include Pre-calculus), Physics and Chemistry. Courses in Mechanical Drawing and Machine Shop are also desirable.
Write to the Admissions Office for detailed information on the nomination procedure. It is advisable to apply for a nomination during the spring of the junior year in high school.
