NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS
To provide financial assistance to encourage students to become Professional or Vocational Nurses. Only in-state (Texas) colleges or universities may participate in the program. Both public and private, non-profit colleges or universities with professional nursing programs may participate in the programs.
Applicant must:
- Be Texas resident
Show financial need
Register for Selective Service or be exempt from this requirement
Be enrolled on at least a half-time basis
Obtain an application from the Financial Aid Office at your college or university.
PROFESSIONAL NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS (PNRS) - Student must enroll in classes leading to Licensure as a Professional Nurse. No individual award may be for more than the student's financial need. The maximum award is $2,500.
FYI: Some, but not all funds are targeted to students from rural communities. Some funds are targeted to graduate students in nursing.
VOCATIONAL NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS (VNRS) - Student must enroll in classes leading to Licensure as a Vocational Nurse. No individual award may be for more than the student's financial need. The maximum award is $1,500.
