Approximately one hundred scholarships of up to $5,000 for African-
American, Hispanic, and Native American students planning to pursue
undergraduate college degrees in the chemical sciences, including
2-year chemical technology programs. Must meet following qualifi-
cations: be in a minority group listed above; citizen or permanent
resident of the U.S.; high school senior, college freshman, college
sophomore, or college junior, intending to major in chemistry,
biochemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or environmental
science and toxicology; attend an accredited college or university on a
full-time basis; have demonstrated high achievement in chemistry or
science; show evidence of financial need for scholarship aid according
to FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) guidelines.
Selection based on: interest in the chemical sciences, demonstrated
potential for success, financial need, overall GPA of 3.0 or better,
leadership skills, participation in extracurricular activities and
community service, recommendations, review of transcripts and personal
statements.
