    This scholarship program is open to any African-American, Hispanic-
    American, or Native-American U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident
    who is majoring or plans to major in physics.  Applicant must be a high
    school senior, or college freshman or sophomore.  Students and prospec-
    tive students from all U.S. colleges and universities are eligible to
    apply for this scholarship.  Applicants are required to take the SAT or
    ACT and submit score results in addition to submitting other required
    application items.  Recipients will also be matched with an accom-
    plished physicist as a mentor.  Applications are available in early
    November.

    Deadline for receipt of the completed application packet:  First Friday
    in February
