NATIONAL ASSN. OF SECONDARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS (NASSP), NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP

National Honor Society Scholarship - This scholarship is available
to high school seniors who are NHS members in good standing. Selection
is based on outstanding scholarship, leadership, service and character.
There are 150 scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $13,000 for state
finalists, state winners, regional winners, and one national winner.
The nomination process opens in October. Contact your NHS advisor for
information, or visit: www.NHS.us.
NASSP/Herff Jones Principal's Leadership Award -
This scholarship, in partnership with Herff Jones, Inc., is available
to high school seniors, and selection is based on leadership skills,
participation in service organizations and clubs, achievements in the
arts and sciences, employment experience and academic record. Also,
student applicants are required to write an essay. There are 100
scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $12,000 which will be awarded to
outstanding seniors.

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards - In partnership with Prudential
Financial, students in grades 5 - 12 are recognized for exemplary
community service. State honorees each receive $1,000, as well as
an all-expenses-paid trip with one parent or guardian to Washington,
D.C. for national recognition. In addition, America's Top Ten Youth
Volunteers receive personal awards of $5,000, a gold medallion, a
crystal trophy for their school or organization, and a $5,000 grant
from The Prudential Foundation for a non-profit, charitable organiza-
tion of their choice.
Contact the organization where you volunteer or your school principal
or counselor in August to request an application and nomination.
