State DAR Organizations and local DAR Chapters have their own scholarship programs. For information, interested students should contact the State Chairman of the Scholarship Committee in the state where the student resides. The name and address of the State Chairman should be available through local DAR contacts or the Office of the Committees at the above address.
Listed below you will find a scholarship awarded annually by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. (Other scholarships given by the DAR are listed by varying deadline dates elsewhere in this Compendium.) ALL REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A SELF-ADDRESSED, STAMPED ENVELOPE. American Indian Scholarship - awarded to Native American students of any age, any tribe, in any state. Award based on financial need and academic achievement. Graduate students are eligible; however, undergraduate students are given preference. Applicants must be Native Americans (proof is required), in financial need and have a GPA of 2.75 or higher. This is a one-time $500 award.
Deadlines: Fall term, April 1; Spring term, October 1
