    Scholarships are available to a graduating high school senior, or a 
    high school graduate, or a full-time college student, who is the unmar-
    ried son, daughter or grandchild of an individual that served in the
    Second Marine Division or in a unit attached thereto.  The term 'son, 
    daughter or grandchild' shall include a 'legally adopted son, daughter 
    or grandchild'.  Family income normally cannot exceed $65,000 in the 
    taxable year preceding the year for which assistance is requested.  A 
    grandparent will establish eligibility for a grandchild.  However, the 
    parent of the applicant must establish proof of income and dependency.
