The Conditional Grant Program is available to students who intend to
major in Civil Engineering, at a four-year State of Texas accredited
public college or university and are classified as economically
disadvantaged. High School applicants must have achieved one of
the following: (1) have an overall high school GPA of 3.0 or higher
(on a 4.0 scale); (2) have a minimum score of 900 on the SAT; (3) have
a minimum score of 21 on the ACT. Current college/university students
must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
The grant is a combination of certified tuition and fees plus a
stipend based upon the student's documented financial need, not to
exceed $3,000 per semester or $6,000 per year.
Recipients of the Conditional Grant Program must: (1) carry a minimum
of twelve hours per semester; (2) maintain an overall cumulative GPA
of at least 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale); (3) graduate with a bachelor's
degree; (4) work for the Texas Department of Transportation for a
minimum of two academic years immediately following graduation.
Recipients will be required to begin repayment of the full amount of
the Conditional Grant expended if they do not maintain the requirements
beginning immediately after they cease to maintain the program
requirements.
