    Scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000 and other awards, as 
    announced, are available to high school seniors who are United 
    States citizens planning careers in government (local, state, or 
    federal) service.  Students must submit essays not exceeding 300
    words, typed and double spaced, telling why they want to enter
    government service.  Recommendations required.  For specific details,

    Chairman, at above address.  Include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
    Deadline:  Application must be received on or before January 15 (or
    next regular business day if the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday).
