State DAR Organizations and local DAR Chapters have their own scholar-
ship programs. For information, interested students should contact
the State Chairman of the Scholarship Committee in the state where the
student resides. The name and address of the State Chairman should be
available through local DAR contacts or the Office of the Committees
at the above address.
Listed below you will find a scholarship awarded annually by the
National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. (Other scholar-
ships given by the DAR are listed by varying deadline dates elsewhere
in this Compendium.)
General Information: (Exceptions are noted under each scholarship.)
All applicants must be U.S. citizens and plan to attend an accredited
college or university in the United States. ALL REQUESTS FOR
INFORMATION MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A SELF-ADDRESSED, STAMPED ENVELOPE.
Margaret Howard Hamilton Scholarship - awarded to a graduating high
school senior who has been accepted into the Harvey and Bernice Jones
Learning Center, which houses the Ben D. Caudle Learning Program, at
the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas. Award is in the
amount of $1,000 for up to four years. Request applications directly
from the Learning Center upon acceptance into their program for
learning disabled students.
