Admission Requirements:
To be considered for admission, freshman applicants must submit a
complete application and must graduate under the state's Recom-
mended High School Program or the Distinguished Achievement Program
(also known as the Advanced High School Program) as defined in the
state's Uniform Admission Policy. Exemptions to the state's high
school coursework requirements are available. See website for
details.
A complete application includes the Apply Texas application, two
essays, an official high school transcript, information about the
applicant's class rank, proof that the student meets the high
school coursework requirements (or exemption information), ACT or
SAT scores, the application fee (or a fee waiver request),
program/major-specific requirements (if any), and any additional
requirements. For details visit website.
Students who rank in top 9% of their graduating class from an
accredited Texas high school will be automatically admitted to
the 2012-2013 academic year; automatically admitted students must
submit all required credentials by the appropriate deadline.
Students not automatically admitted are considered for admission
based on academic achievement (class rank, ACT/SAT scores, and
high school coursework), personal achievement (written essays,
activities/resume information, and letters of recommendation - if
submitted), and special circumstances (if any).
